The Client:

South London based Puzzle Kitchens are innovating the way consumers design and buy kitchens, by creating immersive experiences that utilise virtual reality from the comfort of the customers’ own home. The Brief:

Puzzle Kitchens pride themselves on ensuring that their service standards and customer experience are consistently high at every opportunity.

After an introduction from a mutual contact, Puzzle Kitchens reached out to the Gala Technology team to help navigate them though the jargon-littered payments and compliance industry to find the right payment solutions that would best fit their business and customers.

Gala Technology explained how the payments eco-system works and supported Puzzle Kitchens with their application for a merchant account and payment gateway with an acquirer, to ensure the rates, settlement times and service would meet expectation.

In addition, Gala Technology explained the features and benefits of the next big thing in payments – Open Banking and how it connects to their award-winning SOTpay - Pay By Link solution.


The Solution:

Puzzle Kitchens decided to deploy our multi-award-winning SOTpay solution within their organisation, simplifying PCI DSS requirements, negating the risk of fraud related chargebacks within the Card Not Present (CNP) channels, and reducing their processing charges.

Puzzle Kitchens also future proofed their business by adopting Open Banking payments, enabling their clients to choose between traditional card payment or with the ability to make a secure account2account payment, direct from their mobile device.

SOTpay enables Puzzle Kitchens to send secure and PCI compliant payments links via email or SMS, allowing the payeer to remain in control of their sensitive card or bank data and complete the transaction either in real time, whilst the agent remains in dialogue or at a their own convenience.

SOTpay then notifies the required individual or department that the authenticated transaction has been completed, enabling Puzzle Kitchens to receive payment.

The Result:

Working with Gala Technology has enabled Puzzle Kitchens to process secure, authenticated and PCI compliant payments across their Card Not Present (CNP) channels via either card or digital bank transfer.

As SOTpay uses additional authentication processes during the transaction, the payment is converted from ‘non-secure’ to ‘secure’ and processed at a favourable rate by their acquiring partner, whilst protecting them from fraud related chargebacks.

Instead of asking their clients to provide their payment card information, Puzzle Kitchens simply generate a secure branded payment link to their customer, which can be sent via email, SMS, or electronic invoice, enabling the customer to remain in control of their card data, whilst providing the flexibility for the cardholder to complete the transaction immediately or at their leisure.

Alternatively, Puzzle Kitchens can mimic the above process, but allow the customer to make a transfer immediately from their bank account, without the need to supply sort codes and account numbers.
