Gala Technology, the innovative UK based company behind the multi-award winning SOTpay payment solution, have announced that they have extended their capabilities to support merchants in Germany, to support demand from their acquiring partners.
This expansion will enable German merchants to use the ‘out-of-the-box’ cloud based technology to process
Card Not Present (CNP) transactions, which continue to surge due to the change in operational practices, following the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite Germany being largely congratulated for their response to the crisis, in recent weeks significant outbreaks of Coronavirus infections, highlighted by 1,553 workers who tested positive for the virus at a meat factory in Tönnies and reports that the R rate had rocketed to 2.88, has sparked concern of a second wave, leading to certain states tightening quarantine guidance.
Jason Mace, CEO at Gala Technology commented ‘SOTpay enables cardholders to complete secure remote transactions without divulging card data to a third party. Payments are authenticated, providing liability shift for the merchant, consequently eliminating the risk of fraud-related chargebacks and are processed in a PCI DSS compliant environment, in a manageable and cost-effective way.”
The above features and benefits have seen the Yorkshire tech company win numerous accolades, with the ‘Best International CNP Solution’ at the major CNP awards in San Francisco, amongst the latest.
Mace continued “We have supported merchants in the UK and Ireland for a number of years, who had a need for our technology to process secure and PCI compliant payments and we have seen additional demand since the outbreak of COVID-19. We are thrilled that Gala Technology has now completed the development sprint to enable German merchants to utilise our SOTpay solution in their native tongue.”
